Joey closed his eyes.

"- roll newspaper into a cone, put it in your ear, then -"

"That's not for a headache, Chris, it's -"

"- light it on fire. Yes it is, Lance, shut up. C'mon, Joey! Where'd that Post - "

Warm palms covered Joey's ears. He let his face tip down. Thumbs pressed into his temples and began rubbing in slow, heavy circles.

Something in his head eased.

When the circles stopped, Joey looked up.


Joey nodded. JC smiled. His hands ghosted over Joey's cheeks and were gone.
